About ITIM-Giyur K’halacha

About Us

Itim- Giyur K’Halacha is Israel’s leading, non-governmental conversion court network. Itim- Giyur K’Halacha provides an inclusive, supportive Orthodox conversion process for Israeli citizens. Its caring, professional staff assist candidates throughout the conversion process — from initial inquiries to educational programs, rabbinical court hearings, and beyond.

Since its establishment in 2015, Itim- Giyur K’Halacha has converted more than 2,000 people to Judaism. The majority have been children of families from the former Soviet Union, but Itim- Giyur K’Halacha welcomes Israelis of every background and circumstance, including families seeking to convert adopted children and children of surrogacy. By embracing those who wish to join the Jewish people, Itim- Giyur K’Halacha is changing the nature of conversion in Israel.

Our Approach

Itim- Giyur K’Halacha operates according to Halacha (Jewish law), and free of government bureaucracy. Its staff and Irabbinical court judges are attentive to and respectful of individual and family circumstances. We view conversion as a path rather than a goal.

Our Rabbis & Rabbinical Courts

Itim- Giyur K’Halacha is based on the writings on Rabbi Nahum Rabinovitch, z”l, who served as its founding president. More than 60 prominent Orthodox Israeli rabbis, including Rabbi Haim Amsalem, Rabbi Re’em HaCohen, Rabbi Shlomo Riskin, and Rabbi David Stav serve as judges in Itim- Giyur K’Halacha rabbinical courts located in Alon, Be’erot Yitzchak, Efrat, Lavie, Ma’ale Gilboa, Shoham, and Tel Aviv.
